The South Western Road Club was formed in 1930 as a cycle racing club for the South West London area. The heart of the club today is the Saturday club rides which cover the quieter roads of Surrey, Sussex, Kent and Hampshire. These rides give our members a basic fitness so they can carry on to bigger cycling challenges. We are also involved in the local cycle racing scene and many members also ride cycle sportives, mountain bikes and audax, both in the UK and abroad.

Our club membership is open to all and we hope whatever your level of cycling ability, we can offer something for you. We have over 200 members at present. If you are considering joining a local club then come along and join one of these rides.

On our Saturday rides, there are seven groups catering for different standards. These rides all start from the same location every week in either Cobham or Betchworth at 9.30am and will cover various distances or terrain depending on the ability of the group. We also have members who meet to ride on different days of the week depending on the time of year and other events which might be taking place.

Our club promotes various cycle events during the year as well as taking part in many different aspects of the sport such as road and track racing, mountain bike events, time trials, sportive and audax rides, sponsored rides, holidays, training week-ends, etc.

We keep everyone aware of activities, trips, plans, etc, through our Facebook page, which all members are encouraged to use and contribute to, and also issue an annual club handbook.

Every first Tuesday of the month we meet at Cobham Village Hall in Lushington Drive, Cobham, Surrey, KT11 2LU between 8:00pm and 9:30pm to catch up with news, and plan forthcoming events. Club nights however are currently not running.
